put it on
If you were watching a movie in 3-D, then you would wear 3-D glasses.
Simple enough, and it makes sense. If you were to watch a 3-D movie without 3-D glasses, I'm sure you'd still be able to understand the movie, but you would be nowhere close to enjoying it and experiencing it the way it was meant to be. If anything, you'd probably come out with more of a headache, and a sense of regret that you didn't purchase the glasses or put them on at least.
To me, faith is that simple as well. A lot of people don't enjoy their faith, because they haven't put on the necessary thing that will help them. And that thing is HUMILITY.
I've come to realize (again) this simple equation:
It takes a Humble Heart to receive a Humble Message given by a Humble God.
Humility is simply saying "I'm open and willing to put myself aside." When we say 'myself' we mean our perspectives, our paradigms, our ways of doing things, our own personal hurts and experiences, and anything to do with self. Let's be real here... 3-D glasses look pretty geeky. But for those who put it on, they're able to enjoy it that much more.
So wherever you are in your faith journey, put on humility and enjoy the scenery... in 3-D!
